Letter From The Founders

On March the 11th 2021, the idea of founding the Lebanese Oncology Interest group blossomed and we started working on founding and registering this new-born NGO. Our goal being to help advancing Oncology in Lebanon during these times of greatest need, we started with a vision to help this field flourish.

After a year of exploring opportunities, we realized that there are many areas where we, as medical students, can be of benefit to the community and to our fellow trainees. In these dire times, any help to society in terms of financial assistance, patient education and awareness can extrapolate to a huge benefit if you cumulate the impact of numerous small actions.

LOIG, this officially registered Non-Profit non-governmental organization for scientific education, development, and patient advocacy, now includes 1100+ members from all medical schools in Lebanon and has given back more than 70,000,000 LBP to underprivileged cancer patients in merely a year after launching.

This would have never been possible without our amazing founding board, ambassadors, dedicated members, and incredible mentors. We hope to keep LOIG growing as we reach the mission and vision we have set forth to our NGO, and to have a greater impact on our beloved country.
