How can I become a member at LOIG?

Students enrolled in any of the 7 medical schools in Lebanon can become members by simply clicking this link. After that, we will add you to our groups where volunteering opportunities and events are shared

Do I need to be a medical student to join your organization?

Yes. Being a medical student in any of the seven medical schools in Lebanon is the only criteria to join our organization.

Can members organize events?

Yes. Any member can suggest ideas and present proposals to the board. If agreed upon, we will form a team to organize the event.

Who is eligible to receive the award of outstanding participation?

Members collect points throughout the year by attending and participating in our activities. They are then ranked on the basis of their scores and top scorers get the bronze, silver and gold certificates.

Once I become a member, can I apply for an ambassador or board position?

Yes. Any member can apply to become an ambassador or even part of the board. We proceed by voting done by the board.

How do members benefit from our events?

We organize monthly webinars and workshops hosting national and international speakers targeted towards medical students to help them in their medical career and provide hands-on training.

Can members assist in patients’ clinical care?

Yes. LOIG organizes monthly free clinics targeted towards cancer screening for underprivileged people in Lebanon. Our members take part in these clinics as clinical or pre-clinical volunteers and assist patients along with residents and attendings.

Who can benefit from our free clinics?

LOIG mainly targets underprivileged people in Lebanon who do not have access to proper medical care. We offer free consultations, physical exam, blood tests and screening for various types of cancer such as breast, cervical, colon, prostate etc.

Where do our donations come from?

LOIG organizes multiple fundraisers throughout the year and all over Lebanon, each directed towards a specific cause.

Who do we donate to?

We donate all of our fundraisers profit to various university hospitals to help support the treatment of cancer patients. Through our clinics and collaborations with some laboratories in Lebanon, we also donate to offer free screening for various types of cancers to underprivileged patients.
